Custom statuses

Define the way you track Work Item progress.

This tab in settings is all about managing the Status field found on most . Custom statuses help you adjust the progression stages of Work Items to specific needs.

Unlike predefined statuses (such as "To do," "In progress," and "Done"), custom statuses are user-defined, and you can align them more closely with the unique workflow of your project.

Enable custom statuses
  1. In the Navigator, select a Planner and press the [Planner settings] icon next to it.

  2. Select the [Custom status] tab.

  3. Press [Enable custom statuses]. You can now edit statuses that will be available for all Work Items in this Planner.

Manage custom statuses

Once you enable custom statuses, you can start managing them:

  • "To do" and "Done" statuses can't be removed as they mark the first and the last progression stages. But you can change their names to adjust them to your preferred workflow. Press anywhere on the status tile to change its name.

  • You can create as many as 8 "In progress" statuses. They should represent different stages in your workflow, like "Design, "Review", or "Testing". You can also rename any of these statuses.

  • If you want to modify the order of the "In progress" statuses, you can drag and drop them across the list. You can also use the [Trash bin] icon on the right side of a tile to remove a status from the list.

  • You can also [Turn off custom statuses] using the dedicated button at the bottom. This results in changing the status of all Work Items across the Planner to the default ones.
