Workstreams tab (in Teams)

See all the Workstreams from all Planners within a Team.

A Workstream is a Timebook's way of presenting the flow and progression of work. You can use it to streamline project management in complex projects. We have another article that describes the whole idea: Workstream concept

This article, however, explains the features of the [Workstreams] tab. You can use this tab to track and manage all Workstreams from all within one Team.

The [Workstreams] tab in Teams is what we call a "roll-up view" as it rolls up work data from various places (Planners) across the Team and presents it nicely in one place. You can use the following features here:

  • [Find] a specific Workstream by its name. Press the dedicated button in the top-right corner and start typing.

  • [Layouts] can help you see the Workstreams from different perspectives. Press the dedicated button in the top-right corner and change the grouping and sorting to match your preferences. For more details, see Layouts

  • You can change the status of a Workstream. Select one of the following options: [Planned], [Current], or [Completed].

  • You can use the [Go to Workstream] option to see the Workstream in the context of its Planner. This gives you more focus on the Workstream details and more options to work with. For more details, see Workstreams (in Planners)

  • Press [Details] to open a new drawer that shows all the notes made about the selected Workstream. You can read other people's comments or add your own.

You can also expand the contents of a Workstream by pressing the arrow to the left of its name.

This shows all assigned to the Workstream.

You can't plan your work in this tab by assigning Work Items from backlog to specific Workstreams.

However, this can be done on the Planner level, and this tab will reflect the changes made there. For more details, see Workstreams (in Planners)
